Minor league managerial experience: 58-81 record managing the 2007 Greenville Drive, a low-A South Atlantic League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
Playing career: Career .276 hitter with 1,599 hits, 91 homers and 183 stolen bases in 16 MLB seasons with Cubs (1986-88, 2000), Montreal Expos (1988-91), Cincinnati Reds (1992), San Francisco Giants (1993-94), Chicago White Sox (1995-97), Rays (1998-99), Texas Rangers (2000), Toronto Blue Jays (2000) and Atlanta Braves (2001).
